Aluminum wrenches are a marketing problem wearing a tool disguise: buyers judge the brand by the surface before they ever test the torque. But the geometry is brutal to finish by hand — curved faces, open-end jaws, narrow slots and soft aluminum that scratches easily. Our curved-face robotic polishing cell is purpose-built for this part family.
A force-controlled head follows the compound curves of the wrench body, polishes the flat and curved faces to a uniform finish, and deburrs the jaw edges without rounding the working geometry. Every wrench in the batch looks like the flagship sample — and the jaws still grip.
The wrench body is a mix of flats, radii and tapered sections — exactly where manual buffing goes uneven. The force-controlled head holds constant pressure while following the curve, so the transition from flat face to radius comes out seamless and uniform.
- Curved-face tracking with constant pressure
- Seamless flat-to-radius transitions
- No gouging, no skip, no uneven sheen
Jaw and slot edges must stay sharp to grip, yet every edge burr is a brand defect. The cell deburrs jaw edges with controlled force — removing burrs without rounding the working edge. Sharp where it works, clean where it sells.
- Jaw & slot deburring without edge rounding
- Working geometry preserved, verified per batch
- Cosmetic finish and functional edges in one cycle
Soft aluminum scratches easily under heavy pressure. The process package is pre-tuned for aluminum: lighter contact force, finer abrasive sequence, gentler path — so you get a clean uniform finish without burnish marks or micro-scratches.
- Pre-tuned aluminum process package (wheels, belts, brushes)
- Light-pressure finishing protects soft alloy surfaces
- Forged, CNC & cast aluminum wrench bodies supported
Combination, open-end, box-end, adjustable, ratcheting — a tool brand runs many models. One cell with quick-change fixtures and a program library covers the whole wrench range; switch model in under 15 minutes.
- Quick-change fixture plates per wrench family
- Program library: teach once, run every batch
- Mixed-model scheduling for brand-scale production
Yes. The force-controlled head reads contact pressure in real time and follows the curve, holding constant pressure from flat face to radius. The transition is seamless — no gouging, skipping or uneven sheen.
No. Deburring is done with controlled force and a dedicated tool pass, removing burrs without altering the edge geometry. Edge sharpness is verified on sample batches before we ship.
The process package is pre-tuned for aluminum: lighter contact force, finer abrasive sequence and a gentler path. This prevents burnish marks and micro-scratches that heavy-pressure manual buffing leaves behind.
Yes. Combination, open-end, box-end, adjustable and ratcheting wrenches share quick-change fixture plates and a program library. Model switch takes under 15 minutes.
For most tool brands, a uniform satin at Ra 0.2-0.4 µm gives a premium look that hides light handling marks. Brushed finishes are available on request. We validate on your actual wrenches.
Yes. Send 5-10 representative wrenches and we run a free trial in our application lab — you receive finished samples plus surface and cycle-time data for evaluation.
