Product Description
Detailed Specifications & Features
Force-Controlled Robotic Polishing Machine For Vehicle Frame
Vehicle frames are the hardest parts to finish by hand: long welded tubes, compound curves, joints and weld seams that demand constant, even pressure across every millimeter. Our force-controlled robotic polishing cell is built specifically for this geometry class. A closed-loop pressure system keeps contact force stable over the full stroke of the arm, so a 1.8-meter frame gets the same finish at the first weld joint as at the last. Results: uniform satin or brushed finish, fewer rejects, and 2-4 fewer polishers per shift.

Heavy-Duty Construction for Large Frames
Most robot polishers are sized for small hardware. Vehicle frames need reach, rigidity and a stable base. Our cell uses a long-reach 6-axis arm on a heavy-duty base, with a twin-station indexing turntable sized for full frames — place the frame once, both sides are finished without re-clamping.
  • Max workpiece: 2,500 mm long, 500 mm section
  • Twin-station table: load/unload on station B while station A polishes
  • Heavy-duty base: no vibration drift on long strokes
Precision Force Control for Complex Geometry
The real problem with frames is compound curvature: tube-to-tube joints, gussets and weld beads where pressure changes in a split second. Our force-control head reads contact force in real time and adjusts the arm path to hold target pressure within ±0.5 N — the same result on a straight tube and on a weld seam.
  • Closed-loop force sensing, ±0.5 N
  • Adaptive path: follows compound curves without gouging or skipping
  • Handles weld seam blending + tube body satin in one pass
Multi-Material Compatibility
Frame builders work in different materials — steel for strength, aluminum for weight, stainless for premium. One cell, one set of programs, swappable consumables.
  • Carbon steel / aluminum / stainless steel / powder-coated pre-finish
  • Quick-change wheels, belts & brushes per material
  • Program library per material & frame model — teach once, run forever
Automated Operation & Labor Savings
Manual frame polishing is heavy, repetitive work — hard to staff, hard to keep consistent. The cell runs unattended: load frames, start cycle, come back to finished parts.
  • 24/7 unattended capability, lights-out option
  • 1 operator supervises 2 cells
  • Replaces 2-4 polishers per shift
  • Process data logged per frame for quality traceability

Frequently Asked Questions
Can it handle frames longer than 2 meters in one setup?
Yes. The cell is sized for workpieces up to 2,500 mm. The twin-station turntable lets you finish both sides of a full motorcycle or bicycle frame without re-clamping.
What about weld seams — do they need pre-grinding?
No. The force-control head blends weld seams directly. For heavy spatter we recommend a quick pre-pass; normal MIG/TIG seams are finished in the same cycle as the tube surface.
Can the same machine switch between steel and aluminum frames?
Yes. Material change takes under 15 minutes: swap the abrasive consumable set and load the corresponding program from the library. No mechanical retooling.
How long does it take to program a new frame model?
Most new frames are programmed offline in 1-2 days using our teach pendant or offline software. We also provide a program template service for your first 3 frame models.
What surface finish can we expect on aluminum frames?
Typical brushed/satin finish at Ra 0.2-0.4 µm, uniform across the batch. Mirror-grade polishing is available on request for accent areas, though frame bodies are usually satin for durability.
Can we test with our own frames before ordering?
Yes. Send us 2-3 sample frames (or fixtures) and we run a free trial polish in our application lab, returning finished samples and cycle-time data for your evaluation.
